St. Thomas Orthodox Church in Ghaziabad, from its very humble beginnings
with just 30 members in 1978, has grown to
become one of the most prominent parishes in the Diocese of Delhi with around 142 subscribing
members, a Chapel at Indirapuram, three schools with 4800+
students & 345 staff members combined, and future projects lying ahead. The parish is very active
through its Spiritual Organizations like Sunday school
with a strength of around 100 students, MGOCSM (25), Youth Movement (40), Martha Mariam Vanitha
Samajam (30) Indian Orthodox Diaspora (15) and Six Prayer Groups.
All organisations functions effectively under the spiritual guidance of Vicars and Asst. Vicars from
time to time. Over the decades, our Church has had the good
fortune and God’s blessings to be shepherded by Metropolitans and priests of great eminence. We have
the blessings and patronage
of His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, the Catholicos of the East and Malankara
Metropolitan. The dedicated guidance and motivation
by His Grace Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios, the Diocesan Metropolitan, has taken us to great heights.
Also, we specially
commemorate Late Lamented His Grace Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios, the first Metropolitan; & Late
Lamented His Grace Job Mar Philoxenos, the second Metropolitan of Delhi
Diocese for their magnanimous leadership which contributed for the present-day development and
witness.
In today’s tech savvy world this website is a small step towards connectivity, it is ironically
interesting to note that our Church as a spiritual entity has laid
traditional emphasis on 'remaining in touch' over the decades.
